ABS and Blake’s Kitchen Cook-Off
ABS volunteered at Blake’s Kitchen Cook-Off by Children’s Wishes held at Rhodes on Pawtuxet. The event is for children ages 8-18 and started in 2021, in honor of one of their wish children, Blake Costa. Blake loved to cook with his mom and dad. Children’s Wishes are keeping his memory alive while inspiring younger generations to get in the kitchen.
We had a team of 7 and a half (including Jennifer Thomson’s nephew). 4 of us helped the children not competing decorate cookies and cupcakes. 3 of us helped in Dipping for Wishes where we collected around $1000 in donations! And our half (Jennifer’s nephew) helped the cooking contestants in keeping their area clean and dirty dish free. We had a wonderful time contributing to a wonderful cause.
